I installed Event Espresso and MER. I’m able to set up a new event, add multiple items with different prices and turn off the “show registration form” option. After that, I run into problems viewing the event to test it. Sometimes the event seems to offer “Register” and sometimes “Add to Cart” and sometimes it just spins and nothing opens. I feel like I’m missing some basic step. I did find various shortcodes but don’t really understand what to use and when. |

Hi Carl, Can you provide a link to the event list on your site so I can take a closer look please? |
|
Dean, The site is http://www.iowayoungbirders.org/event-registration/ I think it may be working now. My confusion seems to come from trying to set up and test the process and not realizing that I’ve already placed in event in the cart which results in not getting an add to cart button, etc. In investigating further, what I would REALLY like is to be able to operate like another site I’ve found using eventespresso which is http://mojoformamas.com/calendar/. However, I do want to be able to sell different tickets to one event which is I needed the MER. Don’t know if this is related but it seems when I am getting instances of clicking on something and having your little spinner appear which then hangs up and gets stuck. I read somewhere on the forum this is a Java issue? Finally, is there some type of map or visual that explains how your various functions and pages relate to one another? I’m having trouble piecing together the various options and the flow from one step to another. Thanks. |
Hi Carl,
It turns out that in Event Espresso 4 you do not need to use Multi Event Registration. Event Espresso 4 does this out of the box. |

Thanks. Are you suggesting I swith to EE4? WOuld that also take care of the stuck spinner when adding to the cart or updating a total? |
Hi Carl, I’d recommend checking it out to see if has the feature set you need. The stuck spinner is likely something that needs to be addressed with your WP installation, but either way, Event Espresso 4 doesn’t have an add to cart function as of yet. |
|
I checked and the stuck spinner that you see when you add an event to the cart or refresh the total may be the result of a plugin conflict. Can you try temporarily deactivating the other non – Event Espresso plugins and try adding an event to the cart again? |
|
|
I have quite a few plugins; any suggestions on where to start? Should I do them all one at a time to see which one is causing the problem? |
|
OK, I deactivated ALL of the plugins except the EE and MER and tried to add to cart and update total and the spinner still sticks. If you go and look now, I did activate my plugins again after this test. |

I am getting this error message which seems to relate to EE: Notice: Use of undefined constant MONTH_IN_SECONDS – assumed ‘MONTH_IN_SECONDS’ in /hermes/waloraweb035/b2371/moo.wildfinchfarmcom/youngiowabirders/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/uxip-hooks.php on line 124 |
Hi there, The month-in-seconds issue isn’t related in this case. This could be something on the server side, either a SiteLock that’s set up on the host, or even possibly caching. Can you check with your host to see if there is a Sitelock set up? |
