Getting Event Expresso to be userfriendly and seemless with theme.

I have installed event expresso some time ago. I asked my theme designer to help customize it, but he has not responded.(Zone4 theme) I do not know enough to get this all to look professional and as Event Expresso has the best reviews I am sure it is possible.

My are problems:
1. No one is registering
This is happening for a few reasons they say. 1. Some issues with REcaptcha (or whatever that is again) 2. The multiple attendees tab doesn’t work in any format either with no extra info, with only personal or with full registration info. http://www.turtlewings.be/event-sign-up-page/?ee=10

  1. I do not like the look of the list of event boxes on the main event page and really don’t understand why the overall event page gives them all full with registration instead of small summaries. http://www.turtlewings.be/upcoming-events/
  2. I can not get the calendar to work, except when I add it as a sidebar widget and then it shows up big in the end of a page or post and the word calendar at the time in the sidebar. Isn’t it possible to get it one or the other. (I don’t have a link to this) I did see it working brilliantly with nice pop outs with more info…that would be wonderful

Sorry for being so naive, I have tried to find these issues in the support and I am not sure why it is just me. Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give.

Jules

Hi Julie,

I’m looking the page over an a good start would be to get an API from Google to get the reCaptcha working:

https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create

Then you can enter the key under Event Espresso> General Settings > Recaptcha Settings.

After you get that set, it may correct the issue you’re having with the add attendees dropdown, but if it doesn’t, we’ll be able to take a look at any errors and troubleshoot further (right now the re-captcha is missing the API key and the web page stops there, so this needs to be addressed first.)

With the event boxes issue, I have a few questions to ask before I can give you some recommendations based on how to go forward with this: Which shortcode is place on this page? http://www.turtlewings.be/upcoming-events/
Also, which page is set in Event Espresso>General settings as the main registration page?

We really need to a link to the calendar page in order to give you specific suggestions. Here is a troubleshooting guide you can follow as well:

No where did I see the API thing. Ok that is an easy fix. I will do that in the morning as only on the iPad now. Also, will look at the shortcode. I had a student working on it in the beginning and was aware of everything. Will try to put a page with the calendar. I did install the calendar plugin and can edit it, but just can’t get it to show up anywhere.

Thanks for your help. I am at a conference all tomorrow, but will hit it hard on Friday.
