Getting Error Messages

Suddenly today my event pages and venue pages are getting an Error 404 message. Everything worked fine yesterday, everything is still active in Event Expresso. Nothing changed.

Hi there,

The first thing to do is flush your permalinks.

Go to Dashboards -> Settings -> Permalinks.

Make no changes and just hit save.

Do the event and venue links then work?

That worked. Why did it happen though and only to the 2 Expresso Event pages? Thanks!

It means something flushed the permalinks at an unexpected point during the request (before Event Espresso had added its rewrite rules) which then prevents EE’s post types from working with ‘pretty’ permalinks (eg the /events/{event-slug}/ URL).

As a one-off, it’s not an issue but if it starts happening regularly it could be a conflict with another plugin on the site.
