Note that it is possible to force a Paypal button to redirect to a page that shows the credit card option. Enter any amount here: https://secure.beyondthenet.com/~beyond/pay/ How can we change your cart so that this view opens? Which file do we need to edit? Any suggestions? Thank you ======== <form action=”https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr” method=”post”>

I believe this is actually set up within your PayPal account. Also, if a person has visited PayPal in the past, then it will automatically ask them to login. The person’s browser cache will need to be cleared in order to see the “Don’t have a Paypal Account” screen. |

I believe the page I am thinking about is this one: |

I think that is the answer. I did this so many years ago I forgot. Thank you |

I thought turning “Paypal Account Optional” to “On” was the simple solution but it is still not opening up to the credit card option on check out. Any other suggestions? Thank you |

It’s definitely tied to the account. I took the business account name from your site with the EE paypal button, and put it into the form on the beyondthenet site, and it has the same reaction. It has a “Create paypal account” section on the paypal site, instead of the “Pay without a paypal account” section that appears when the “info@sedonasky.com” account name is used. And when I put the “info@sedonasky.com” account name into the EE paypal button form, it shows the “pay without a paypal account” option. If those are both your accounts, you might try putting the “info@sedonasky.com” account into the EE paypal settings. |

I tried changing the EE email to info@sedonasky.com but Paypal still did not go to the “pay without a paypal account” view. I ‘think’ that you are right about the setting being tied to the account but this test does not confirm that. Are you sure there is nothing in the above “post” code that is different? <form action=”https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr” method=”post”> Thank you |
Hi Jerry, Did you try clearing your cache before doing the test? While the link to the thread in the PayPal Developer Community that discusses this is broken, this comment on StackExchange explains:
I’m finding this to be the case when I visit your web page here: https://secure.beyondthenet.com/~beyond/pay/ If I go to that page in my web browser it shows the log in form. If I go into Chrome’s “Incognito” mode (no cookies) it shows the credit card form. |
|
|
It shouldn’t go straight to the “pay without a credit card” view, but it should give you the option to pay without a credit card without opening a paypal account. |

I spent more time experimenting and have found the second to last post to be accurate, which is good news. If a person’s computer has not recently logged into Paypal, it will by default go to the credit card view. I just did a definitive test in Firefox. For easy reference for others, here is how to clear your cookies: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cookies#Firefox |
