Generating 3000 tickets and export them with their barcode numbers or qr codes

Hi there,

We are issuing tickets for a third party organisation to redistribute. Therefore we are planning to issue 3000 tickets with unique barcode/qrcode. All they need is either the barcode or qrcode for the individual ticket.
My question is:

  1. Is there way we can generate the tickets in bulk? I have created an special event for it with the capacity of 3000.
  2. After the ticket generation, how can we obtain the barcode / qrcode in a digit / number form instead of the images on the ticket.

Appreciate your help.

Hi there,

Is there way we can generate the tickets in bulk? I have created an special event for it with the capacity of 3000.

You can create batches of ticket within the admin by adding registration within Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover on event name} -> Registration -> Add new registration.

That will show the ticket selector within the admin, you can select X amount of tickets and create registrations there, you will need to create smaller batches until you reach your total but the size of the batch you can create depends on your server. Try 100 and see if it times out, if yes you need to create smaller batches.

In the event itself, you’ll need to make sure the ‘Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event:’ is set to higher value as it’s the max amount of tickets you can select per ‘batch’ in this example.

After the ticket generation, how can we obtain the barcode / qrcode in a digit / number form instead of the images on the ticket.

So you don’t want the QR codes, just the value used within the QR?

Is that so you can generate your own QR’s?

If so you can use a function like this: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/735d17aa2c4b5939bc1aa0c687815bca

To add the value from the QR to the CSV report. Then use that value to generate your own QRs.

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. I was able to generate 255 tiks at one time (that’s the maximum you can do, right?). Will be great if it can be done more. But we only need to do that a few times, so it is all good.
Got code working for the barcode and qrcode too! Thanks so much!

Yes 255 is currently the max.

You’re most welcome, I’m glad it’s working for you 🙂
