From General Settings: “Ticket Reservation Time (number of minutes registrants have to complete their registration before others can register in their place. Longer times (eg, 60 minutes) are good because they reduce the likelyhood of accidental overbooking, but shorter times (eg, 15 minutes) reduce wait time for registrants who are waiting on an abandoned registration)” My questions are: And how is it possible for an “accidental overbooking” to happen? |

Space are reserved permanently after payment or (if set) the registration status is Pending. They are temporarily reserved as the registration form is being filled out for the amount of time set in the ticket reservation time option. Accidental overbooking can happen if multiple users are filling out their registration forms when only one ticket is left. The feature you’re inquiring about was added to help avoid overbooking. |

Josh, Does this only happen when you are using multiple event registration? Or will it happen if 2 people click on the an event in the calendar at the same time and begin to fill out the registration information at the same time? Or will it only happen if 2 people click register on the Event Details page at the same time? Default Payment Status (this value will be automatically filled in for each person’s payment status, until payment is made, for each event): When would the Pending Status be removed? Does that depend on the Ticket Reservation Time? Or are they separate? We have very small class sizes and very popular classes (short signup times) and I am suddenly very worried that we will have a lot of over bookings. I am also confused about the Ticket Registration Times setting. is this because once a customer has progressed to the payment screen they can always pay for a class? Even if they have waited longer then the Ticket reservation Time? When would they lose the ability to pay? Example Question: Thanks for your help. |

Hi Noah, What happens is if there are any available spaces (regardless of using mer, the calendar, etc) the registration form will appear and people can fill out their info and submit it. The Ticket reservation time feature holds the last spot and allows people the set time to pay to prevent additional tickets from being sold. In your above example, customer b would not be able to register because customer A’s registration is set to pending. In ee3.1 a registration with the the pending payment status counts toward the maximum limit. The ticket registration time would not apply in this case. |
