I am having the same issue as in a previous thread.

When I scroll ahead a couple of months and click on an event, when I close the event box and return to the calendar it takes me back to the current month instead of the one I was looking at. Is there any way to have it return to the month I was looking at?

From the thread:
https://eventespresso.com/topic/a-few-issues-still-sorting-out/

I believe the answer was “No”.

If this is true, I am hoping that there is a work around or something that can be done because the calendar is how our customers register for one the next months classes.

What about building a separate page for each month, and forcing the calendar to load a specific month on each page?

Any suggestions would be appreciated as this problem makes the calendar unusable for us.

You could create a page that has a calendar for each month and within each page add the “gotoDate” parameter as documented here:

http://arshaw.com/fullcalendar/docs/current_date/gotoDate/

One way that this could be done is build out a new Calendar shortcode parameter to set that “gotoDate”.

Josh,

do you know if its possible to build a shortcode that would combine “gotodate” and the existing [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”your_category_identifier” show_expired=”true”]. Or is it otherwise possible to have a page load a filtered calendar that displays a specified date (the next month)?

Hi Noah,

I think the gotodate parameter would need to be its own parameter and wouldn’t be something that would be combined with the category and show_expired parameters.

So the usage would look something like:

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”your_category_identifier” show_expired=”true” gotodate=”2013,10,15″]

In not having any luck getting the gotodate function to work.

I’ve tried the code that you provided as well as just using it alone
[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR gotodate=”2013,10,15″]

I am in month view and not week or day view. Does this effect how gotodate works?
Or am I missing something about how gotodate is supposed to work?

I am trying to build a page that will load the next month’s calendar and not the current month.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Noah,

Gotodate isn’t a calendar shortcode parameter that exists in the Calendar add-on in its present state. You or a developer would need to build the new shortcode parameter before it can be used.

If your project requires this functionality we can advise contacting one of the developers listed here for a quote:
