Fully executed PayPal payments show regs as "Pending Payment" instead of "Approv

Hello. We are having an issue with Event Espresso and PayPal payments. I ran a test tonight, even though the issue has been getting progressively worse over the past few months; this is the first time I’ve been able to sit down and troubleshoot.

When I registered for an event just now, I used the PayPal button. It took me to a page with the options to login or use a Credit Card to pay; I chose the latter, as I’m fairly certain that’s what most of our event attendees are doing. I went through entering my personal and CC info and at the end of the process, it gave me a link to go back to the event page (out of PP). I did this and on the original page, it shows my payment as not processing.

However, I received a successful receipt from PayPal, and our PayPal account (the business one) shows the receivable of my payment. However, in EE and on our page, it shows the transaction as Incomplete and the registration as Pending Payment.

I can go back in our transactions and see where this started sporadically in March of this year, and then has progressively gotten worse, where it is now affecting all transactions. The end users haven’t yet asked me any questions about this, but it’s making for high overhead to have to go through all our PayPal transactions and match them with an EE registration and mark that reg as Approved manually.

I did search in EE Support for an answer to this, but most of what I found was a year or more old, or it was referencing an issue that was on PP’s end. I’ve also poked around our PayPal settings (found nothing), EE settings (found nothing), and around our database settings (found where the issue started, but nothing to fix it). In that last area, in phpMyAdmin, all of the payments that have successfully processed thru PayPal, but not EE are missing Transaction Messages and ID numbers, but I have a TID# for my test payment.

Please let me know how I can fix this issue.

If you view the IPN history from withi your PayPal account what status does it show for the IPNs?

To confirm you PayPal account has been setup correctly.

Tony,
Thank you again, so much. I don’t know how, when, or why, but the IPN webpage address had been changed, the IPNs had been disabled, and then the encoding was set to the wrong language. This was all working very well at one time and then got fouled….but it is working now, which makes my little Admin Director heart sing! You may close this ticket.
