Free Tickets question

Josh expressed to me in another post that you guys could write a jquery script that would add certain tickets to another ticket automatically.

The ticket in question would be an optional ticket that gives the purchaser of the first ticket the OPTIONAL ability to bring a free guest.

Can you tell me, if we added that script, what would happen if the registration form was not filled out for the free attendee?

With regards to a specific registration form not being filled out, that will result in no data recorded for that attendee.
