Free additional tickets for the same user

I have an interesting use case for multiple tickets and need your expertise. I have paid events allowing up to 20 tickets per person. This works as design when a person tries to purchase multiple tickets for other people. However, I would like to figure out how to make the additional tickets free in case the user name (or email) is the same on the 2nd, 3d, 4th, etc ticket.  In our specific case, we have a paid event to train the club officers in Toastmasters. When someone buys multiple tickets for other club officers we want to charge the admdision cost x number of tickets and that is working fine. However, when the same person buys multiple tickets for him/her (this is a case when the same person is a member of several dif. clubs) we want to charge only 1 ticket price. Is there a way to accomplish this by using promo code or any other ways?

Thank you,

Jake

Hi Jake,

No there isn’t anything built into Event Espresso that could accomplish that. At best I would say you would need something custom developed for it.

We offer a customisation service – https://eventespresso.com/contact/customization-request-form/ but there is also the Pro section https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ as we are often backlogged with work.

Hi Dean,

Is there a way to display a question group based on a specific question answer? For example, there is a question “Are you age 18 or older?” with Yes/No response. If the user selects No there would be an additional Question group displayed, otherwise no need to ask the additional questions.

Thank you,

Jake

Yes and no. There isnt anything built in, but you could add some basic CSS (to hide) and jQuery (to show) to toggle the question group based on the answer selected. So long as no question in that group is required then it should work fine (if there is and the user doesnt select the answer and tries to go forward it could cause issues).

Hi Dean,

Can we add this on the enhancement (wish) list ?

Thank you,

Jake

Of course! We already have a few requests for a conditional logic to be applied to the questions.
