Hi, My client is reporting that the charge form is getting hit with massive amounts of charges that are being declined. I’ve installed captcha on the site already but unsure how to prevent. https://www.jansenartcenter.org/

Any insight into what is going on would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi,

You can go to your site’s Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Logs page and/or the Event Espresso > Transactions page and check the transactions with declined payments. The individual items in the Transactions page will have a “View additional details link” where you can IP Addresses. So if it looks like a pattern of abuse from a specific IP, you could block that IP address from accessing the site using .htaccess or some other means.

It looks like there aren’t matching transactions for all the fraud attempts in the system. Could it be possible they are accessing another way?

I’ve asked the client to contact Authorize.net and find out if that may be the case.

Thanks!

Are they accepting payments via Authorize.net some other way than through their WordPress site via Event Espresso?
