When a user registers the e mail they get is so badly formatted it is basically unreadable. If however I resend their registration details from the registrants section in the admin dashboard they are perfect. I urgently could do with some help I am sure there must be a straightforward answer but I just can’t find it, I basically want the user to get the same e mail when they initially register as they get when I resend their registration details. Link below shows the two e mails side by side . Link to Image of two e mails side by side

To clarify I am using the inbuilt e mail templates not ones I have created, thanks

Hello, those images were helpful. It looks like the HTML in the email is being changed by something on your site — possibly the local email server as there is some extra spacing.

Are you using a transaction email service on your site?

If not, could you please try setting up one like Postmark app or Sendgrid?

Hi, I will look at doing this but I am confused as to why the e mails sent from admin look fine but the e mails sent when a user initially registers are different, aren’t they the same e mail?

Yes and they are also built in almost the exact same way, the triggers are different but actually building the email is the same.

We’ve seen similar issue to this previously and for the majority of the time it appears to be a strange setup with the hosts mailserver that triggers for some emails but not others which is why we recommend the above as it removes the host from the equation.

If you have not modified the templates at all you could do a reset on the template to confirm you are using the latest version.

Just go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Registration Approved.

Click on the Registrant link and then on the right click ‘Reset Templates’

That will clear the Reg Approved templates and recreate them using the files within EE (once created they are stored in the database).

Although it would be strange if this fixed it due to way the messages are built as mentioned above.

Hi Tony I tried your suggestion but now both the initial registration e mail and the resent one have the bad formatting.

Are you now using a transactional email service or your hosts mailserver?

If the latter can you try one of the services mentioned above and see if the issue remains. This is to confirm if this is an issue with your host mail server or not.

I am trying to set up Mandrill the problem is that to do so i’ve had to update dns and it’s not kicked in yet and I need to try and get this sorted, are there any other ways of checking?

Looks like it will take a few more hours before I can use mandrill so i’ll hold for until then
