I’m looking at a use case where an event would have a few optional, extra cost options, e.g., lunch. If there were only 1 optional extra, I could create a copy of the base event with e.g., lunch – not too bad.
But if there were 2 independent options, e.g., lunch and parking, then it takes a total of 4 events. With 3 options, e.g., lunch, parking & program book, it’s 8 versions…at that point I think it’s becoming unworkable for customers.
The only solution I see from your current feature sets is the ~$100 Multiple Event plugin, but that’s pretty pricey and overly complex for the modest need which isn’t really “multiple events.” I know I can have questions to identify options without a separate price – I do that a lot – but that’s not the use case I’m looking for.
So event gurus, how about adding a feature (that’s a lot less than $100) for optional extras with a price within a single event? Could be limited to some small number like 4 if you want to keep it within bounds.
At this time we don’t have any other options to allow for the above other than creating multiple ticket types or events and using MER, we do have a feature request for an add-on we are calling the Price Modifier Add-on here:
That add-on would basically add (or possibly subtract) values from the registration based on the answer to the questions within the event.
However as you can tell from the roadmap above that add-on is currently not under development as we work through the features that have been requested more, so its unlikely to be released ‘soon’ without sponsorship.
Thanks. I didn’t recognize the Price Modifier yesterday as being what I want. I’ve voted for that one, and I see I’m not alone. For now, I guess I’m going with a PayPal shopping cart – too many options to create separate events for all possibilities, and MER is too costly for this simple need.
