Fatal Error – Yikes!

WordPress 4.0, EE4 4.4.4p, existing installation on http://www.ninthdistrictpta.org

Went to log in to WP admin area today and found the below error message (commas added for clarity):
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134,217,728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 89,031,157 bytes) in /home/wp_iafjmi/ninthdistrictpta.org/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/EE_Log.core.php on line 171

I have no live events right now, so EE should be relaxing and doing nothing; why it would want 89MB when there’s 134 MB already available seems odd.

The server I’m running on (Dreamhost DreamPress) will dynamically allocate memory as needed, but I suppose the plugins have to give it a chance to work. Also going to open a ticket with Dreamhost.

Hi Michael,

Go to WP-admin (your WordPress dashboard) –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Admin Options.

Set all logging options to off if they are on and save changes.

Logging was on from the last problem. I now have it turned off & will monitor for a few days to see what happens.
