When I try to activate the plugin, this error pops up:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home2/dvsacorg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/camptix/camptix.php on line 5277

Hi there,

You may need to deactivate camptix first, as the error message is coming from a file in the camptix plugin.

It doesn’t give me an option to deactivate. It is dimmed out on my installed plugin list and gives me the option to activate, edit, or delete. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling.

Are you able to deactivate Camptix after re-installing it?

no 🙁 It only gives me the option to activate.

Okay, with camptix deactivated, are you able to activate Event Espresso now?

Hi there,

I’m getting the same exact error when I try to install camptix too.

It looks like this is a known issue, and you can use the development version of that plugin in the meantime:
