is it possible in EE3 or EE4 to allow a family(1-2 adults and 1-6 kids) to register for $50 but individuals can register for $25.

Hi,
In EE4 you can set ticket bundles, but these are set numbers so 2 people or 10 people, etc.

Having variable numbers of tickets for a set price is not possible.
If you don’t need any or much info regarding the additional attendees, you could set it up so that the ticket registers 1 person, but the questions grab additional data about the other attendees. This would mean that those people are not set in the system as attendees, just as question answers, so capacity counts would not be correct.

can the system automattically detect how many kids (under 18)?

No, as the plugin has no logic for custom questions as the questions could be anything.
