I need something that (frankly) seems excessively simple to me (and it’s why I originally bought a license for Event Espresso), but which has never been added to the product. I’ve asked for this feature several times, but it never appears:

I need to be able to have someone register as a group/family. They need to be able to enter a list of names, and their type (adult/teen/child), and (at their option) an address, and then tally up their cost, bill them for it, and present me a list of names and types. Most importantly, they should be able to do this in a single pass, without having to create a WordPress User ID.

The workflow should be:

  1. Go to registration page.
  2. Enter a full name, select a type, repeat until you’ve entered the whole family.
  3. Verify the registration and cost.
  4. Buy it (PayPal, Square, etc.)
  5. Upon confirmation, add the names and types to the database.

Note: These are families, and they’re registering their children. I don’t want (and can’t afford the legal requirements) to create accounts for anyone under 18. Nor do I want to create separate accounts for spouses or domestic partners — a family should be able to register all members at one time.

Hi Craig,

This is possible with Event Espresso without requiring anyone to register an account. What I would recommend doing is setting “Allow Group registrations” to yes. Be sure to enter a max group limit. Then set up your questions for the primary registrant that in specific question groups (like Address). Check these questions groups off for the primary registrant under the event options. Then set the registration information to be required for each family member by selecting either personal info only, or Full registration info and check off the question groups according to your preferences in the event options.

If you need to allow the selection of multiple ticket types, I suggest installing the Multi Event Registration add-on and following this tutorial: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/
This will allow for multiple ticket types to be selected for one transaction.
