I installed a local copy of my business license EE. I then installed the social media plugin and activated it using Twenty Eleven. The Twitter and Google Plus icons show up on the event detail page, but the Facebook button is missing. I check the source and see that the Facebook code appears to exist but for some reason does not show up on the actual site. Please help! Thanks.

Hi Vanessa,
I’m sorry for the trouble. Facebook had made a change to their API and we need to update the add-on to adapt to it. In the meantime, there is temporary solution you can use to get the Facebook button to appear posted here:

Sorry, but I’m having same issue and am editing the wp-content/plugins/espresso-social/espresso-social.php file. I’ve replaced the Facebook button section, but am still having the same issue.
Is there anything else that needs to be updated?

DOH! Never mind – it pays to read the instructions that a Facebook API key is needed – sorry! Please disregard.

Not sure how to get a facebook API key. Went to the website indicated but am not sure where to go from there.

@Sylvie – if you go to the link https://developers.facebook.com/apps it is the correct place to obtain an API key, you need to register an app so click the create new app button in the top right.
