Hi, I have tried 2 different Shopping Carts, iThemes exchange and WPMU Market press and when I insert a shortcode with an event Espresso post/event it breaks the whole page.

Is there anything special we need to do to insert a shortcode from elsewere without the page getting all screwed up?

here is the shortcode [mp_product product_id=”11201″]

here is an example of a screwed up page.

FYI, The default currency is GBP for EE payments, Using cart66 for AUD payments and wanting to use either of these shopping carts for USD payments.

Hi Ian,

I do see several buy buttons on the page and it appears to be okay. What is breaking on the page?

Thanks

Lorenzo

Lorenzo, content is duplicating, here is a link to a normal event, http://cleanhealth.com.au/events/gold-inutrition-pro-melbourne-march-2016/ The black box at top in this one is not displaying as it should in the 1st link I gave you.

Have you contacted the plugin author? They’ll have a better idea of what to look for and how to troubleshoot issues with the shortcode.

It is quite a coincidence that 2 “Major” Plugin developers would have the same issue I tested marketpress in a normal post and it did not break the page.
However the exchange one did not work, but there has been some code added to functions.php file to accommodate this.
I have ended up using another plugin wp simple pay and the short codes from there so work.
To me, it looks like when the shortcodes were added it either strips or ads div tags causing the page to look odd.

I’m not stressing as I found a work around.

Their shortcodes may not work on custom post types and without a copy of the plugin that’s just a guess.
