External Plugins with EE4

I wanted to know how possible it is to use plugins with EE4, for example a related posts plugin, could I integrate this with an event, to pull up related events?

It should be possible as EE4 uses custom post types. It would depend on whether or not the related posts plugin detects the EE post type and taxonomy or not.
