Exporting to CSV

Hello!

The export to CSV function does not seem to be working – while it’s listed under the legend on the event overview page, it’s not available under ‘actions’. Am I doing something wrong or is that function no longer available? We are using:
WordPress Version:
3.4.2
PHP Version:
5.2.17
MySQL Version:
5.5.23
Event Espresso Version:
3.1.27.P
Thanks for you help!
Sarolta

Hello Csete,

I’m not sure about 3.1.27.P because I do not have it installed anywhere, but it is working correct on the latest version, 3.1.29.1. Can you try updating to the latest version of WordPress and Event Espresso?

Hi Jonathan,
thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I am hesitant to update right now because we are in the middle of registrations for our event that takes place in March and I know I will lose some of the customization that I have done if I do any updates. We will make do with Excel for now and I will upgrade both WordPress and Event Espresso in March.
Thanks,
Sarolta

Hi Csete,

The CSV icon was appearing in versions prior to 3.1.29, so there may something that’s set to make that icon not appear on your site.

Are there any plugins active that modify user roles and capabilities?

Hi Josh,

No, we don’t have any such plugins active on the site. I should also clarify a point my initial question – there are no icons available at all under ‘actions’, including export to CSV.

Thank you,
Sarolta

Hi Sarolta,

Can you try viewing the admin screen where those are missing in Firebug or the Web inspector and check to see if there are any errors?

There may be a file permissions error where the server isn’t able to access those image files, or there is a plugin or the active theme is creating a conflict by injecting its CSS or JavaScript onto the Event Overview screen.

Since there are a few possible causes to this problem you may be able to rule these out one by one:

1) If it’s a theme conflict you can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme.

2) If it’s a plugin conflict you can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins.

3) It’s also possible that the server doesn’t handle the way WP compresses the admin JavaScript files. You might try disabling JavaScript concatenation for the WordPress admin to see if that makes a difference:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Disable_Javascript_Concatenation

You can use an FTP client and a text editor to access and add this line to the site’s wp-config.php file:
define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
