The export seems to be working (although its exporting a .xls not .csv), but i can not import the events. We’ve tried in ee3 to no avail and now ee4. The export comes from ee3. We need to batch import because the client has many events. The current errors message is EE_CSV – import_csv_to_model_data_array – 241.

WP 4.0, EE, 4.4.2p + Calendar.

Hi,

Are you trying to export EE3 events and them import to EE4?

The Export/Import functions are not designed to allow you to migrate your events from EE3 to EE4. EE3 exports can be imported to EE3, EE4 exports can be imported to EE4.

EE4 has built in migration scripts that will transfer your data from EE3 to EE4 when you activate EE4 for the first time.

Can I ask exactly what it is you are trying to do?

I was trying to export all events from one site and import them to another (site redesign). All of the EE3 plugins/versions were the same on both sites. Import was not working EE3 to EE3, so i tried EE3 to EE4. Thank you for that information on the non-compatibility. I guess we’ll drop the tables and start over with EE3 to EE3 again.

Side note: Even though it says it exports to csv, it exports a xls file. If it only imports csv, why export does it export xls?

Hi,

It exports as a CSV file:

The CSV file can then be read by Excel, Numbers, Google Spreadsheet, etc.

Thank you, Lorenzo. I can indeed read file extensions. It must be something custom that the previous developers of this website did. We managed to export/import the events through the database. Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear you were able get the information out.

Your screenshot appears to be from Event Espresso 3. My earlier comment was on Event Espresso 4.
