Excluding Events from main page

We host a series of camps in multiple categories. I’m creating a new category for private camps that are only open to a specific group of people (e.g. from one school).

I’d like to just be able to send out direct links to these new camps – either directly to the listings or just to the private category. However – I can’t figure out how to exclude these camps from showing on the main listings page.

I created a new main page using – [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=category,category] – but the formatting looks weird.

Regular listing page: https://cltbikecamp.org/early-registration/
Shortcode listing page: https://cltbikecamp.org/events-test/

I realize an easy alternative is to password protect these private camps – but we prefer to a) keep them off the main page b) not to have to worry about families keeping up with passwords.

Any other thoughts?

Hi,

I checked your site’s shortcode listing page and I did find a reason why the formatting looks strange/weird. The reason is because the shortcode was wrapped in a <pre> tag. This is something that can happen if the pre tag gets copied from the documentation and pasted into a visual editor.

This is easy to fix: You go to edit the page, switch to text editor mode, then remove the <pre></pre> tags.
