I have run across a few issues when I try to get the Excel download
1.After successful download (from moz,ie,chrome)–I get the warning in MS Excel:
> The file you are trying to open event_filename.xls is in a different
> format than the specified file extension. Verify that the file is not
> corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file.
for now I said yes to open the file and saved as which eliminated the issue, but it would be nice to not have to do that.
2.Downloading the file — other admins on the wordpress account had the following error:
> Internet Explorer(8)could not download admin.php from cfnlpoa.com
> …Please try again later.
So this one looks like a browser issue since it can be downloaded from Firefox, and Chrome and IE 9.
1) Yes I get that too, its a standard Excel warning. The file is an older Excel sheet to help maintain compatibility. It opens fine in older versions of Excel.
2) I had no issues with downloading the file in IE8 (real version not an emulator). Are the other admins on a corporate network or something similar? Is there any reason why they are using IE8?
Yes, you called it- they are on a corporate network with no control of the version. I’m going to close this thread since it was just posted for reference. Thanks for your answers.
