my client has your Everything license installed on her site wilcoxhealingcenter.com
on the events main page; instead of only showing active events and when there are none, her email opt-in form, shows all all expired events on the main event page. https://wilcoxhealingcenter.com/events/ This problem occurred before, and you fixed it but told me it was a temporary fix and not to update the plugin. I may have accidentally updated, but I thought I was careful not to, and now the same problem is back.

When is this support going to start? I am extremely dissatisfied. Your everything license should include priority support, but you get nothing from it. And even after I pay your fee, I’m still getting nothing. This is unacceptable.

Hi Ruth,

I replied to both of your support token requests directly via email, requesting more details on what is displaying and asking if it’s ok for me to clone the site locally to investigate this.

Have you not received those emails?

When I reviewed your previous threads on this I remembered this being an issue with how the theme handles the Main Query conflicting with how EE injects the event details. So I need to clone the site locally and take a look into this but need to confirm that’s ok with you first?

The version of EE activate on the site has been updated so that likely explains why this start happening again, but I need to dive into the query to find out what is happening before I can comment further.

Am I ok to clone the site locally?

Please get this working asap. My client needs to post events. I am looking for a permanent fix too. I was promised that last time this happened and it wasn’t done.

Hi Ruth,

Apologies for the delay, this relatd to the theme using Redux framework which just runs through the main_query, does a bunch of processing and then replaces it with another query. I don’t use that theme, or Redux for that matter, so had to step through the code to find where this happened and figure out a way to fix it.

I’ve applied a fix to the EE archive template file, can you please confirm if that fixed the issue for you? As far as I can tell all is working but just want to confirm.

If that’s working correctly I’ll create a child theme to place the template file in and prevent it being lost when the theme updates.

I am seeing what I should see so it’s looking very good so far. We are in the process of adding an event to see if that works. Is this a permanent solution so that updates won’t overwrite it?

Right now, it’s within a template file within the theme, so theme updates will wipe it out.

But once it is confirmed that it works, I’ll create a child theme for your current theme and place it in there so that it’s ‘update safe’.

we are having multiple problems adding events. You can’t add a venue and for live events it is showing zoom with no ability to change it. You can add an event date but not the time. Registration and tickets not available. Says register but there is no button.

I need more details on what is happening.

You can’t add a venue and for live events it is showing zoom with no ability to change it.

What happens when you try to add a Venue? I’ve just added a quick test event to the site, can assign a Venue and then update after initially setting.

You can add an event date but not the time.

You’ve got plugin conflicts happening there, plugins are loading assets on EE’s event editor when they shouldn’t be.

The quickest fix for that is to switch to the new advanced editor.

Event Espresso -> Events -> Default Settings.

Set ‘Activate Advanced Editor?’ to Advanced Editor and save.

Then refresh the event editor, you’ll now load the new editor which I can’t see conflicting locally.

Says register but there is no button.

Where does it say register and where is there no button?

I did what you said and switched to the advanced editor. I can now see and manage venues and event times is available. I see your test product with a registration button.
What i don’t see is a registration button for my clients event. What do you have to do to get the registration button to display?

Tony,
here is a link to a video to show you the problems we are having. We do not want any free events for paid events and edited the default free event. But it is not providing fields for the event date and time, there are other dates that don’t belong and can’t be edited and on the front end, it says the tickets are sold out.
Here is the link to the video: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/vw18tsvzhc1vt8zx71ghx/wilcox-events.mp4?rlkey=l4ncvnug4ejc71v6ahuvre180&st=y17daxu8&dl=0
You can see the event which is published at https://wilcoxhealingcenter.com/events/meditation-for-daily-living-1/

Thank you for making your video. Unfortunately, I am still very confused – probably more than before. I don’t see any of the screens to enter the event start and end date and time. The date that you’re showing is not what we want. We also do not want to show free tickets. I would be very grateful if we could have a video meeting to better understand how to work with your plugin. How can we schedule that?

Let me know a time that works for you and we can go from there.

I can do today from ~4pm (1 hour from now, I’m based in the UK so GMT) or a little later on from there.

Failing that I can schedule you in for this week just let me know which day you prefer.

Hi Tony, this won’t work for my client as she is booked solid through until Friday. I told her to respond to you herself to arrange a meeting time that will work for both of you. We sincerely appreciate your support.

My client Judith sent you an email to support@eventespresso.com – she doesn’t know how to forward the email I received and forwarded to her. This is what she is requesting:
I can meet on 1/17 at noon or 1/20 at noon or 1:00 pm EST. In reference to 1/17 I would need to hear back from you today (1/16). In reference to Monday I would need to hear back by Friday. She also said:
Ruth and I were both confused by your video. In my case I followed a lot of it, but you never answered our question about how to get rid of the Free Ticket option. I would only use that if I were doing an event that was free. It is very confusing for customers when that shows up on the registration page and consumes too much time to correct the situation when someone clicks on it to register.

My client Judith sent you an email to support@eventespresso.com

May I ask which email address she is using? I can’t find any emails from Judith in our support inbox.

I can meet on 1/17 at noon

This works fine for me: https://everytimezone.com/s/da1b19a6

Noon EST would be 5pm (GMT) for me, I can make that work.

1/20 at noon or 1:00 pm EST

I’m not available on the 20th at that time.

I can be available at 4pm EST if that is any use.

Ruth and I were both confused by your video. In my case I followed a lot of it, but you never answered our question about how to get rid of the Free Ticket option.

I’m sorry for the confusion, I thought I showed how to edit the default ticket in that video. You don’t ‘get rid’ of the ticket but edit the default to ticket to be whatever you need for that event.

Every event requires a Dateitme and a Ticket… the ‘free ticket’ in this case is just the default ticket EE generates to fill that requirements when the event is initially generated. So at that point you would edit the ticket and set the name, pric and sale start/end date on that default ticket… effectiavly making it ‘your own’ ticket for that event with whatever price you want set on it (be if free or not).

It’s also possible to edit the default ticket template EE uses to generate that default ticket when creating new events, but until you are used to how the current datetime/tickets work I didn’t go into that.

I would only use that if I were doing an event that was free.

Understood, so when you create the event you just update that new ‘default’ ticket to be whatever you need it to be.

It is very confusing for customers when that shows up on the registration page and consumes too much time to correct the situation when someone clicks on it to register.

You wouldn’t leave the free ticket on the event if you don’t need it. I think there is just a misunderstanding of what that ticket is for currently, and I’ll explain this further in the meeting.
