Every state listed twice in drop-down list

I am seeing every state listed twice in the State/Province – System Question. Is there a way to correct this error?

If you go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Countries, then select the country those states belong to, are they listed twice there?

Yes, I found every state listed 2x in general settings and spent the time to delete the duplicates (1 at a time….)
Do you have any idea what may have caused this?
