EVENTS_CALENDAR shortcode not working

Since the update to 4.8.22p the calendar shortcode is not working at all. It doesn’t matter if we are logged in or not. Our client is uber p-o’d because she has classes scheduled for tonight that people are still trying to get into.

We are running calendar version 3.2.6p.

Seems like TONS of folks having issues since the update.Need this addressed ASAP.

Is the Templatera plugin active? If so, are you using it? Can you try deactivating it?

I’ve not installed the Templatera plugin. Checked the plugin list, and it’s not there at all.

Do you have any other Visual Composer plugins running?

The only Visual Composer plugin on the site is WP Bakery. It is providing a great deal of the styling to the site. I tried turning it off and the calendar still didn’t show up. Interestingly, the EVENTS shortcode works sort of. It is double listing the signup button.

Just for kicks and giggles, I totally deleted the WP Bakery visual editor plugin and removed all the shortcodes tied to it from our calendar page. I then put JUST the espresso shortcode for the calendar on the page. Nothing showed up at all. So, looking like it’s not related to the VE plugin.

I then disabled ALL plugins other than the EE and EE Calendar ones. Still a no-go. My client is ready to take my head off on this one considering she holds classes almost every day of the week, and no one can sign up.

It might be your theme then. Since we don’t have a copy of your theme to troubleshoot this, would you be so kind to try this?

1) You open up /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/CPTs/EE_CPT_Strategy.core.php in an editor and go to line 296 and comment out this line of code:

EE_Registry::instance()->load_core( 'Request_Handler' );

Commented out it will look like this:

// EE_Registry::instance()->load_core( 'Request_Handler' );

2) Copy the same line of code, without the commenting out, and paste it right after line 355, just before the line that reads as:

$this->CPT = $this->_CPTs[ $post_type ];

That did the trick. Thanks Josh! Do I need to do anything to keep this change from being wiped at the next upgrade?

No because the same change will be in the next update of Event Espresso 4 core.
