I’m using a theme called Good Cause (https://themeforest.net/item/good-cause-a-single-event-fundraiser-theme/16457067) and I’ve installed the EventEspresso plugin but it won’t show up on any of my pages. The theme does have a native event plugin built in, but I have already gone in and disabled that feature with help of the theme staff.
I get the error below but when I go to the Espresso Critical Pages Settings it shows that everything is ok.
“A potential issue has been detected with one or more of your Event Espresso pages. Go to Event Espresso Critical Pages Settings to view your Event Espresso pages.”
Any ideas why the Event Espresso plugin wouldn’t be working? I can create and event/venue just fine but it won’t display on any pages I put the shortcode on.

Hi Aaron,
You shouldn’t need to put shortcodes on a page in order to see the events or venues. If you have your WordPress permalinks set to use Postname, the events will display on yoursite.com/events, and venues will display on yoursite.com/venues.

I only have one event so I’d like to make it where you just click the “Register” button in the top menu and be taken straight to the registration for the event. But this seems to not want to work that way or I’m missing something.

It doesn’t automatically work that way. Here’s what you can do though: You go to edit the event, and you click on the “Shortcode” button. Then you copy the short code.
Then you create a WordPress page, and place that short code on the page. You can also add information about the event there.
Then you can add a “Register” link to the top menu via the WordPress menu manager, and you set that navigation menu item to link to the page you just created.
