I have a member of our site that is seeing events from someone else from February of 2016 on their My Events page. When I go to the events page on the backend, all I see are events from March 2016 and later. I can’t figure out what is going on or how to fix it.

I am sending in a priority support token

Hi Jason,

In the support token form you mentioned:

When I first built this site, I did use a copy of a similar site from somewhere else so I wonder if there is an issue pulling from an old database that I thought I deleted but maybe didn’t or something like that?

Yes that’s quite likely it. Do you have a list of the User ID’s and events from the original site’s database or a copy of that original site’s database so we can compare the two?

Hey Josh,

Thanks for getting back to me. I don’t actually have the copy of what I used but when I look in the cPanel I see that there seem to be two databases:

xxxxxxxx_vegas1
xxxxxxxx_vegas

Looking at wp-config, I believe xxxxxxxx_vegas1 is the correct one. The other one looks to be from the old site (I looked in the venues section and recognize some of them). I’m guessing that maybe that just needs to be deleted or something? Just speculating, as I’m a complete novice when it comes to database stuff.

Also, within that xxxxxxxx_vegas1, there seems to be two copies of everything. (wp and wp1). I believe the regular wp is correct but that’s just by flipping around (not sure if there are supposed to be two copies in there or not, just trying to provide as much information as I can).

Hi Jason,

I spent some time looking through the two different databases and here’s what appears to be going on:

The current database in use, x_vegas1, has the exact same rows copied over from the original database in the wp_events_member_rel table. So that’s why some of the users are seeing events in their profile that they did not register for. Here’s how to fix:

1) Backup your database
2) go in to phpmyadmin or similar tool and delete rows with IDs 1-1027 from the x_vegas1.wp_events_member_rel table. After you delete the first row in the x_vegas1.wp_events_member_rel table will have id 1028
3) You can verify the fix by installing the WP User switching plugin, then switch into the affected user accounts and check the profile pages to make sure the older events are not listed there anymore.

Looks to be fixed! I spot checked a few other folks to make sure there were no issues and it all looks good. I will monitor for the next day to make sure no members write in with issues but thank you so much for helping out with this!
