I have a site in development that shows a few events on the home page and then has a full page to list all events. It was working fine the last time I worked on it two weeks ago (I backed up the site at that point).
I haven’t done anything to the site in the mean time, but now none of the events are showing up at all, though they are still in the Admin area. I saw that there was an update to EE in the mean time so I updated it and still no events show up. I deactivated and reactivated EE, I uninstalled and reinstalled EE. I even set up another development server and restored my backup from two weeks ago and none of the events show up.
I can only base this on what I can see, but I think their might be a conflict on the permalink level.
For instance, if you go to http://awls.skippingdev.com/events/ (/events/ is the default event archive for EE4), you will see a list of posts, but clicking them does not bring up an event.
As such, I think either the theme or a plugin is reserving the events CPT slug.
Now, you may have changed the EE4 events slug to courses already (which is why you provided the http://awls.skippingdev.com/courses/ link), but did you “flush” the permalinks? You can do so by going to Settings > Permalinks and just pressing the save/update button.
If flushing the permalinks doesn’t work, I would examine if there is anything conflicting with the events and/or courses slugs.
