I need some assitance in how to achieve this: for each event, the event is applied to three categories. for example: category: classes now when i use the shortcode: it only applies the class=”cooking” to the event. I want it to display all the categories (class, cooking, ages). if i use the shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] then it does do this. it adds all the categories to each event’s anchor tag. I want to achieve this same result but being able to specify only 1 category to display on the calendar using the first shortcode i mentioned. I am wanting to do this so i can display all the events assigned to cooking, but customize the color of the event based on the age group. can someone please help me with this? in desperate need. If this can’t be done through the backend, could someone help me on modifying the code to achieve this? Thank you |

Hi, You could try the Beta version of the Calendar (which we are hoping to release as a formal version soon). My tests indicate that it will do as you need it, show all categories as classes even when filtered by category. You can find out how to access beta versions via this document https://eventespresso.com/wiki/pre-release-channel-guide/ |

hey dean thanks for the reply. Does the beta support all the add-ons? would I have to re-enter all the info i’ve already entered if use the beta or would it be just like doing a manual update? any idea when the official version will be coming out? |
Hi Glenn, It is just a manual update. I would advise you to keep an eye out for the formal release (there’s a few things due to be released soon) and make sure you swap back to the formal release when it is out. I can’t give time scales, except to say soon. We are very busy behind the scenes coding and testing. |

okay thanks for your reply. just one last question for you.. if i did install the beta, and I had to revert back to an older version, would that be fairly easy or would I be expecting alot of problems? I am just worried about having to reenter all the events again if I install the beta and run into issues. |
Hi, You only need to load the Beta Calendar, nothing else, and it has a different folder name to the normal calendar, so what you can do is simply deactivate the old calendar and install and activate the Beta one. If you decide you dont want to use the beta calendar, deactivate and delete it and reactivate the old one. The calendar does not affect or change events or the database. At worst it might reset the calendar settings, though that shouldnt happen either. |

okay perfect. thanks so much for your help dean. I appreciate it. |
Not a problem, let me know if you get stuck. |
hey dean. that seemed to work. just curious about the css though, looks a lot different from the other calendar. doesn’t look as styled as the other calendar. is that just because its in beta state? |
Hi, The Beta calendar should look like this http://d.pr/i/d7iO or this http://d.pr/i/lufY depending on whether ThemeRoller is set in the Template Options. It may not be its final style, but I would expect it to be similar: very simple, very clean. |
oh okay. I disabled theme roller so I could custom style it easier so thats probably why it doesn’t look like those screenshots. Anyways thank you so much for your help. Your a life saver. issue resolved. Thank you. |
