Events lists twice using short code

Before
http://demberghjh.com/demo/event-registration/

After theme change and EE update:
https://cannabistrainers.com/event-registration/

Using these short codes:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS title=”ServSafe® Certification” category_slug=”servsafe”]

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS title=”Sell-SMaRT™ Training” category_slug=”sellsmart”]

Post updates this page is broken the ServSafe classes are listed twice, but there is only one SellSmart event.

Please advise and if you need admin creds.

I have double checked the theme and it also happens with the 2013 theme and with or without the page builder. Also prior to the EE update the calendar icon was working and now not. All WP, plugins and EE up to date.

Hi Maureen,

I’m afraid the pages you link to here both say “Website Maintenance” and little else. If you can complete the form on this secure page someone from Event Espresso staff can investigate further.

Sorry about that I realized the maintenance page was up shortly after I posted the ticket but not soon enough before you took a look.

They are visible now.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi Maureen,

For some reason the ticket selector is also being displayed twice on the single event view too, for example:

https://cannabistrainers.com/events/servsafe-food-safety-certification-0920/

Are there any customized functions or templates set up to make that ticket selector display twice? Those may be getting carried over to the event lists too.

Regarding the calendar icon, it appears that the CSS from the Event Espresso plugin for the event lists page isn’t loading. If you go in and edit that page, and click Update to re-save the page then refresh the page on the front end does the CSS start loading?

There are no customized functions or templates. The only thing I changed functionally is to install the beta autoreminder plugin, which I have deactivated.

where is the css file located I did find this page /plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/public/Espresso_Arabica_2014/style.css and resaved it. But I suspect it is not the right one. And it had no effect.

Let me know if you need ftp or admin access.

Thanks

You can actually resave the page that has the shortcodes to ensure the CSS files load. Something isn’t quite right in your site’s database it seems, so the CSS isn’t getting loaded on the page when the shortcode is parsed.

If you aren’t using any customizations may I ask how is it that your events pages, like this one, show two ticket selectors?

I don’t know. That page is generated by the plugin. That actually doesn’t concern me because it is another call to action at the bottom part of the page.

Where it is an issue is on this page where it’s not clear which link to click.

https://cannabistrainers.com/event-registration/

This is a copy of the pre-update, pre-theme change page:

http://demberghjh.com/demo/event-registration/

The difference between the two pages is I updated Event Espresso, added an SSL, and changed themes.

https://www.kadencethemes.com/product/ascend-premium-wordpress-theme/
(a solid theme company I’ve used for a variety of carts and memberships)

I have turned off both the page builder (used on both the pre and post sites) and the new theme (switch to 2016 theme) and the same display occurs.

I did notice that the calendar icon does load on the individual event pages.

Thanks

I get that you’re not concerned about the ticket selectors being displayed twice on the one page, but that’s probably why they’re being displayed twice on the https://cannabistrainers.com/event-registration/ page.

If you can complete the form on this secure page someone from Event Espresso staff can investigate further.

Done. I didn’t see a ticket number so I used the subject as the reference.

Hi there,

Thanks for sending. I’m not able to log in to the WP dashboard with the credentials you sent. The error message says invalid username or password. The FTP credentials are valid, and there’s some custom code in the “Cannabis Trainers Website Special Features” plugin that’s quite likely causing the duplicated content. The code starts on line 25 and ends on line 37 of the cannabistrainers-features.php file of that plugin. That code should be removed and you can use the options in Event Espresso > Events > Templates instead.

I added that so long ago I had forgotten.

I’ve removed the entire code section the applied to EE and the display is still listing twice with the second section in reverse order when there’s more than one event.

I tested the admin credential before I sent it as that is one of my pet peeves so I’m not sure why that didn’t work. I can resend it again if need be.

You also have two templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates that may be causing the problem. loop-espresso_events.php and content-espresso_events.php. I can suggest removing or renaming those as they may be contributing to the double information being output.
