I hold courses that span non-consecutive days for 4 weeeks. Would this work well with it? I tried by the lines but they span from the start date to end date, including the days that I don’t have the classes.

Any way around it?

Thanks.

Hi,

In EE3 the calendar cannot separate date times up. The only work around for it is to create individual events for each date and then use the Alternate Registration URL to link all the events to the first event (that way, all attendees are only registered on the first event, but all dates show in the calendar).

Ok thanks. How would I go about linking the “Alternate Registration” to the first event?

What would I be able to use this with recurring events? Some events are repeated every second month.

Thanks.

Hi,

Once the events are created, visit the first event and obtain its URL (either from the browser or by clicking the Full URL button in the event editor).

Then paste it into the events. that need to be linked back to the first one.

Yes you can do this with Recurring events, but make sure that the first event has it removed, otherwise it could cause a redirect loop, which isn’t good.

Hi Dean,

Thanks. Can you please explain where in the event EVENT OVERVIEW can I add the link, referring to the first event. I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Sure thing.

As an example, I went to the front of my site and got the URL of the first event, in this case it is http://www.ee-3136.4.dev/event-registration/?ee=8

I then went into the events and add the URL the the “Alternate Resgistration Page (optional)” option.

I set the Recurring Events update option to “All events in the series”

I then updated the event.

After that I went back to the first event and REMOVED the url

I then selected “Only this instance.” in the Recurring Event options and updated the event.
