I am using event-espresso with the custom files add-on. I have changed several templates (php-script-editing rather then (re)-coding) to change output views of the EVENT-LIST and ESPRESSO_TABLE shortcodes.

On my site I will publish several events on one single date every month. Therefore, for navigation reasons, I would like to create a drop-down list of those single-days-per-month that will result in displaying only the events of that particular day in some table format (I have control of having the information in table format – but not in adding a specific date parameter to the event_list_display.php or any other template).

Thank you in advance for your support.

Anyone out there who can help me with this? Thanks!

What specifically are you asking for help with? We can’t provide support for customizations you make to your templates, but I’m not entirely clear what you’re trying to do. It sounds like you could just create a custom dropdown menu that linked to your custom table layouts, but I’m probably misunderstanding what you’re doing.

Hi Chris, thanks for your response.

I have created a work-around for my template challenges by:
1. add an event-category f.i. “februari 13″ and
2. create an old-school html drop-down on a WP-page directing to a page with [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=”13feb”] in it.

That works however.. it is not as dynamic as you could imagine. The date-variables are already in the database and I would like to address those variables in order to display the right content (in this case: only the events that will occur on a specific date) in the EVENT-LIST-DISPLAY.PHP template.

Can you help me with some basic php-syntax that will help me any further with this?

As I said, we cannot provide support for customized templates. If you need assistance building your custom templates, you might want to consider posting on our jobs page or purchasing a custom development token. We’re also going to be adding a Event Espresso Pros page within the next couple weeks. It sounds like what you need is an altered MySQL query rather than a lot of PHP coding.
