Hi Tony,
please excuse me having one more question:
When I display the event calendar using this shortcode:
[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR cal_view=basicWeek event_category_id=xx,yy,zz]
the filter dropdown shows all categories instead of only the three categories set.
Same for the category legend, where I was expecting the limitation as well.
Looking forward to learn how to set this up this correctly.

Turns out the filters on the calendar aren’t limited by the shortcode parameters so it is currently expected that they show all categories.
We can add a hook into the calendar that will allow you to hook in and filter the terms used by that section based on the shortcode parameters. I’ve created a pull request for this to be included in the next version of the calendar which is currently under review.
