Event with sub events and total tickets question

Hi,

I would like to implement an event where the base event (A) is required and there are 2 optional events (B and C). All tickets are max 1 per order.
Event A and B have 200 available tickets, event C has 50 available tickets.

Can this be done?

If tried setting event A as required. All 3 events are then shown on the registration page but there is a radio button behind each event so I can only select 1. Can this be a check box so a customer can check any combination of event A and the other 2 events?
Alternatively I would create 4 separate events for all possible combinations (A only, A+B, A+C, A+B+C).

Can the total ticket scenario I described above be implemented in EE4?
So, the maximum number of tickets available for event A (and B) is 200 but there can only be a maximum of 50 tickets sold for event C.

And if I have to create 4 separate events can I configure that for A only and A+B together a max of 200 tickets is available and for A+C and A+B+C together a max of 50?

Thanks,

Andre.

Hi Andre,

The closest you will get to this is as follows:

Set the “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event:” option to 2

In each (all 3!) ticket, click the settings icon (cog) and set the Maximum quantity to 1 (http://take.ms/NHwPI)

At first look this will still allow your customers to select all three, but there will be an error message if they try to and they can only successfully move forward with 2 tickets.

Creating separate events is an option, but you would struggle to control capacity as events cant share capacity.

I’m going to put this in front of the team to see if there’s any thoughts on this.

Capacity like you described isn’t an issue. Set the datetime limit to 200 and the tickets A and B to 200 each and ticket C to 50. This will mean that either:
200 tickets A can be sold
200 tickets B can be sold
150 Ticket A and 50 Ticket C
and so on

Once the datetime has maxed out all ticket sales will stop, once a ticket maxes out that ticket sales will stop.

Hi Dean,

Thank you very much!
Following your instructions got me exactly where I wanted to go.
Setting the max number of tickets for the event to 3 allows the customer to select all 3 options with a max of 1 per option (no more radio buttons :))

I do have a follow up question.
When selecting all 3 options I have to fill in the registration details 3 times or click the “Use Attendee #1’s information for ALL attendees” check box.
Is there a way to prevent that so a customer only sees 1 registration form?
Or is there a way to default the check box to checked?

Thanks,

Andre.

Hi Andre,

If you edit the event, look at the Question Groups selected for the Additional Registrants – http://take.ms/ONW2K

If personal information checked? If so un-check it and update the event, then retest.

That will remove the need for the extra information.
