I haven’t been able to find a solution to this issue. A substantial number of events require no registration. I have tried setting “Display Registration Form?” to “No” which removes the form, but there’s still a note at the bottom that states (having removed registration date fields):

We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed. Please contact us if you would like to know if spaces are still available.

How can I ensure that events not requiring registration contain no registration reference? Thanks!

A related issue is when I leave the registration dates and times blank, upon saving the event it fills them in, so I must re-open and clear this information (which renders the registration “closed”, even though really it never existed)

Hi,

The event dates and times reappear as it is a safety mechanism to make sure that an event has a date and time.

If not date is associated with the event it is condsidered a past event and that is why the

We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed. Please contact us if you would like to know if spaces are still available.

message is appearing.

If you had the event with a long registration period for example then that message would not appear, even with the registration form turned off.

Also with no date attached to the event, the event will not show in a standard event list, you would need to use the [EVENT_LIST show_expired=”true”] shortcode.

You would be best to set the event as Ongoing http://d.pr/i/4HJa though there is no way to stop the dates from having to be deleted each time, unless you use css or modify the template to remove the dates from showing, and on the events that need dates manually add them into the description.

Thanks for the information. This seems to be working well.
