I have a mulit-day event that has 3 blocks of workshops. I have the workshops set up in 3 groups — 1st question – is there a way to require the user to select a ticket?
Is there a way to have a ‘continue’ to the next event(group) when they click the ‘add to event cart’??

Hi there,

1st question – is there a way to require the user to select a ticket?

You can set a ticket as required by clicking the icon on the ticket for more settings and checking the ‘This ticket is required (will appear first in frontend ticket lists).’ checkbox on the ticket, then save.

At least one of those tickets needs to be added to the registration then.

Is there a way to have a ‘continue’ to the next event(group) when they click the ‘add to event cart’??

I’m not really sure I follow what you are trying to do here, can you add some more details, please?

Here is a page — what i need is to require the user to select one of these options — or if you know of a better way to do this I’m open to ideas

Hi there,

I can’t view that page without a log in, if you prefer not to make it a public page you can send temp login details using this form:

I have made this a public page

So you want the user to select at least 1 ticket from any of the available tickets in that list?

Yes that is what I’m trying to accomplish

I’m not sure what you need to change then, as you can start a registration without selecting a ticket.

So when you load that page you need to select a ticket, if they don’t select a ticket they don’t register?

ok so maybe I need to explain whole process — https://member.aapsm.org/events/ — i need the registrant to choose 1 item in each of the 4 events listed before they register

Ok, I see.

We don’t have an ‘events within events’ type of restriction (meaning to register onto an event you must register onto the event(s) ) at this time, nor do we have restrictions that force users to register onto specific events.

So there’s no way to force registrations to go through each of those 4 events as they are now and select a ticket without custom development.

As those additional events seem to be ‘add-on’ would it work if those were added as additional questions to a single event?

Meaning the user registers here: https://member.aapsm.org/events/2019-aapsm-stand-alone-meeting/

Then on the registration form would be a (for example) a “Masters’ Course” question with the same options you currently have as tickets within that and so on for each additional option?

Note to do the above and add a value to the registration if the above question is selected would require a 3rd party add-on, shown here:

http://aparnascodex.com/downloads/price-modifier-for-event-espresso-4/

Which allows you to assign ‘values’ to questions, so when the user selects an answer for that question it adds the value to the registration total. This setup would also mean you would need to limit registrations to be a per person basis.

Thank you for the reply and I think this gets me almost there. With the additional plugin will I be able to limit the amount of people that sign up for the workshops. Each workshop is limited to 30 registrations….

No, that add-on does not allow you to set a qty on the questions.

The only way you’ll be able to do that is with ticket options, meaning either the setup you have now and a use some method to get the users to register onto an event (other than a link to the other events you’ll need custom development for it) or all the options within a single event (note that the single event option will need a high number of ticket options and may be confusing for registrants).

I greatly appreciate all your help — is there some documentation or plugin that allows me to modify that pop-up window that comes up when you add event to the cart?

The documentation on customizing that output assumes you are familiar with PHP and WP templates, but can be found here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-multiple-event-registration-add-on/#mer-templates

That snippet actually refers to the event cart itself, not the popup, but you can swap out event_cart.template.php for cart_results_modal_dialog.template.php to allow you to edit that template from your theme.

Does that help?

i purchased and installed the http://aparnascodex.com/downloads/price-modifier-for-event-espresso-4/
It does not appear to be working and have had no response from aparna — any ideas to why the pricing options are not showing up on the questions page?

We don’t provide support for the 3rd party add-ons so you’ll need to contact Aparna if it’s not working.

As some general troubleshooting, have you added the question to a question group that you have selected on the event?
