Event Time Incorrect and Keeps Changing

Hi… Strange problem with EE4. We’ve entered an event with a start time of 8:30am EST end time is 12:00pm. When our WP general settings are set to New York time zone, the time for our event changes to 4:30am start to 8:00am. We’ve changed the WP general settings time zone to other random zones and it does change the event time. We set it to UTC and that seems to put it to the correct time of 8:30am, but I thought I saw documentation that said not to use UTC. Can you clarify? We need to be sure the event times remain accurate and correct. Thank you!

Hi,

This usually happens when another plugin is using the date_default_time_set() function which is discourage, as WordPress (and therefore Event Espresso) expects the dates in the database to be UTC and then uses the timezone you have set in settings to calculate the time differences.

Do you have another plugin that uses date? It may be something like a calendar plugin but may not be as obvious as that.
