Hi there, I have this event which has 12 different datetimes, each date times I would have unique General, member and concession tickets. In theory, this event would have ended up with 36 tickets.

When the event is displayed in the event page. It looks just awful. Ideally, it will be better for the user to choose which datetime before seeing those tickets. Currently it is the opposite. How can I change that? Can I possibly modify the event template to display the tickets differently? Can you please let me know where I should look?

Hi Hody,

That many date times and tickets may hit the limit of the max input vars on the server and you may also run into a slow registration experience.

Could you share more information on the actual event setup?

For example, could you split this event up by general and member and then a separate event for concession tickets?

I have increased the max input vars to 5000. Which solves the problem. But in my other post, I have already described the event. Basically there 30 days, each day we have 12 time slot, allowing 200 persons per slot. Lastly 3 types of tickets (general, friend and concession). I have already separated the days into 30 different events. I can’t really separate the time slot into events, as this will create 360 events, and it will be impossibly to manage.
My question still remains, is there anyway that I can modify the display of the tickets being selected. I am okay to custom code it, I just need a point of reference to look from.

Hi Hody,

There is a filter option that is available that may help:

Note that this will apply to all events once it is enabled.

Hey Lorenzo, the problem is that I would need to limit the amount of tickets loaded at the beginning and customise the template so it looks better. At the moment, I have got all tickets shown at once. Which is very confusing and messy. Would you please just point me to the template side of thing. or even filter I can use to cusotmise event espresso? Don’t you guys have something like a template option that I can modify, similar to WooCommerce?

Why won’t the new feature to filter tickets by date help?

Hi Garth, the filter by date feature only works if you have less amount of tickets. In our situation, we have three types of tickets and 12 datetimes per events, and more than 30 event item for the same events for different dates. All these become quite a bit of mess when all together. I am just after some help on where to look to customise the displaying of the ticketing. So that I can simplify the ticket selection section:
People can 1/ select a date (the event item), 2/ select a time (datetime) 3/ select a ticket type and lastly, pay.

At the moment the out-of-the-box solution from you guys is rather confusing with too many tickets options are shown at once in the table. As I have got 36 tickets displayed at the sametime. It is just not user friendly.

Hi there,

If it were a site I was building, I’d break those 12 date times into 12 different events. Otherwise the way the tickets are displaying isn’t going to be your only mess. You’ll also have a mess with the attendee list.

Anyway that said, if you want to customize the way that the tickets are displayed, that’s totally possible by adding some JavaScript to the page. Here are a few codepen examples:

Hi Josh,

In my other post I did ask the question if I can bulk create or manage these events. It is okay if I can create them at once. As I would have 30 days, of 12 datetime each, which is around 360 event item of the same event manually created! Imagine when I need to change the ticket price for it.

To manage 30 items is already quite annoying but slightly better than 360 of them.
