Similar conditions to https://eventespresso.com/topic/inactive-event-cant-put-it-back-to-active/, please advise on how to set the event to Active.

Hi there,

I’m sorry I have very little information to know which way to advise. May I ask is the event published? Can you post a link to the event’s page so I can investigate further?

The event is published:

I’m afraid the screenshot doesn’t explain the inactive status. One thing you could try is making a few minor adjustments to the dates and times (for example change the end date it’s February 1 instead of January 31).

Also, you can try setting the event to Draft status, then click Update, the re-publish the event by clicking on Publish.

I have tried changing the date/times and setting the event to Draft and re-publishing the event. The event remains in the Inactive state. Please advise on how to fix this. Thank you.

Hi there,

So to confirm, you migrated the site over from EE3 and when checking the above event it shows inactive? No other changes were made to the event?

Are your other events working?

On the live site, can you take a screenshot of the ‘Event Date/Times’ section in the event editor for the ‘Capital Wine School Gift Certificate’ event, please?

This would be your EE3 site, not the event in EE4.

Yes, the site was migrated from EE3 and the event shows inactive even though valid date/times and ticket quantities have been configured. The EE3 event used features of EE3 that are not available with EE4, so I added tickets that represent the gift certificate value in the EE4 event. Other events are working. Below is the screenshot of the EE3 event.

Ok, so the problem with that EE3 event is there’s no Event Date/Time time set on the event which has caused the migration to fail on that event.

The strange part is that if I setup a similar event in EE3 and migrate over I get the same setup and it shows the event as inactive, however, if I update the event EE recognises something is incorrect and fixes the datetimes for me (which in turn fixes the event).

The solution for this may be you need to reset and remigrate that event over (after setting and event date/time on the event in EE3 first) but I’d like to take a quick look at the database to see if I can spot the problem first, would that be ok?

If so you can send temporary login details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Note to view the database I need to install a plugin and we don’t install plugins without FTP access so both are required unless you would like to provide a method to access the DB on the site, either is fine.

I’m trying to send you FTP credentials, but the form you linked to is not submitting, when I hit submit, nothing happens. If you can provide me with an email address, I’ll add you as a collaborator in the flywheel account and then you can login with your flywheel account details. The FTP access is:

Host sftp.flywheelsites.com
Port 22
Username Your Flywheel username (not your email address)
Password Your Flywheel password

There’s quite likely a validation error preventing the form from submitting.

Okay, I was able to submit the form, but basically I need your email to set up FTP access.

Hi, I added your email as a collaborator in flywheel. Were you able to access the files?

Hi there,

Yes I can now access the site via FTP, however the WP-Admin credentials provided don’t allow me to log in, can you recheck those please.

Ok, I had a look at the site and the reason the event would not change to published is the DateTime was marked as archived in the database, likely during the migration.

I’ve manually updated the datetime in the event and it now shows as Published with the tickets showing on the event itself, can you confirm if it’s working for you now, please?

Hi Tony. The event is working — thank you very much. However, I will have to recreate what you did as I will be performing the EE3 to EE4 migration again. I made adjustments to the datetime per Josh’s suggestion in the May 1, 2018 at 10:19 am post. What specifically did you change/update to have the event show as Published?

Within the esp_datetime table the DTT_DELETED field was set to 1 for the datetime on that event, that indicates the datetime has been archived.

I changed that to 0.

If you click on the cog icon for the datetime in the event editor you can find the datetime ID, you then know which row to look for in the Database – http://take.ms/wc0MM
