Hello.. We upgraded from Version 3.1.24.1.P to Version 3.1.24.3.P and event registration just quite working. After filling out the registration form, the site just redirects to a blank page?? All was working fine previously. Any ideas?

Event Registration Page:
https://paddleandtrail.com/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=898&name_of_event=Paddle%20to%20The%20Rock%20Bar%20and%20Grill

Redirects to: https://paddleandtrail.com/?page_id=12109

You might try updating your permalink settings in the WP settings.

I’m not sure if this is what your refering to, but it is set to Post name.

It is set to:

Just try re-saving the permalink settings to see if that fixes it.

I also noticed that you have a https turned on in your site. Are you using a plugin such as WP SSL/HTTPS to manage this? If so, this will sometimes cause weird redirection issues if not set up properly.

Re-Saving Permalinks didn’t work. It’s weird, the form on the registration page is actually pointing to that page_id instead of a Permalink. Is that the way it’s supposed to work?

No SSL Plugin except for: Event Espresso – SSL/HTTPS

The site is running Woo Commerce but everything played nice until the EE Update.

Any other ideas? Thanks again for your help.

form method= post action = https://paddleandtrail.com/?page_id=12109 id= registration_form

Hi Therese,

Are there any older registration page templates from a previous version in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates?

Here is a list of everything in that folder. I one point, I deleted all of those files and replaced them again, so I’m not sure which ones are new and which ones are older.

Is there a key file that I can look at that may be the culprit and check any code to help diagnose things?

add-to.css
date_range_display.php
espresso_table.php
event_espresso_style.css
event_list.php
event_list_display.php
event_list_secondary.php
event_list_table.php
movie_list.php
ongoing_event_list.php
ongoing_events_widget.php
table_display.php
widget.php

Sorry about this, but we took this site over and didn’t do the original coding, so I’m not sure where and what the original programmer customized.

Try removing or renaming both event_list.php and event_list_display.php from that directory. Back these up somewhere as they may contain customizations.

These file are also present with 5/2/2012 dates on them in the /uploads/espresso/ folder. Would these old files affect things?

custom_functions.php
custom_includes.php

I renamed those 2 files you mentioned to .bak and nothing changed.. I cleared the cache also..

You could try removing the custom functions files. In fact, rename the espresso directory for the time being so Event Espresso will only load the core templates.

Then start deactivating other plugins than Event Espresso. There might be a plugin executing code during the registration process that is redirecting the registration page.

No Luck 🙁 I renamed the folder and obviously a bunch of Table and List displays didn’t show anymore.. which I could have fixed if the registration started working.. but it didn’t, same issue..

I just don’t know what to do.. if you can think of anything else, I would appreciate it.. There is an update now showing in my Admin Panel for EE.. What would be the best path forward to update.. Or would it simply just update a broken structure?

It’s strange, the update says my License Key needs to be entered, but it’s in there:

“There is an automatic update for Event Espresso available but your Site License Key has not been set. Please go to the Event Espresso General Settings page to set your Site License Key for this addon.”

While I can recommend updating, these are not known issues in Event Espresso 3.1.24 or 3.1.25.

The next place I would investigate would be the theme. If there are core functions from Event Espresso that are being overridden by means of the theme’s functions.php file, this could quickly be determined by running the theme test drive plugin and checking the registration pages.

After that, it would be good to rule out any plugin conflicts by temporarily deactivating all of the plugins and reactivating them one by one. Check the registration pages after each plugin activation

Thanks.. I will systematically go through later tonight and disable them all and see if there are any conflicts.. You mentioned SSL before.. Would any of the settings in the EE HTTPS Settings affect what we’re experiencing?

Internal HTTPS Elements
External HTTPS Elements
Bypass External Check
Disable Automatic HTTPS
Force SSL Exclusively
Shared SSL
Force Shared SSL Admin

I do not think so. Here is a link to how this should be set up: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-sslhttps/

You could try deactivating it and checking again.
