I have set up the plugin as suggested and created my first event, however when users click on the Register Link, they are taken to the form which when they click submit, takes them back to the registration page. A few things that I have tried after reading the forums, all of which have had no impact *Changing to twentyeleven theme Any suggestions for a solution would be appreciated. Thanks |
Hi Steve, Can you post a link to page where this is happening? One thing that would be good to rule out would be the possibility of a plugin conflict, which can be done be temporarily deactivating all non-EE plugins. One instance that comes to mind where I’ve seen something like this happen was an SEO plugin that has a setting that will strip off parts of the registration page URL, and caused a loop to happen just like you’ve described. |

Hi Josh, Thanks for the quick response it is happening at http://www.nasta40.com/affiliate I have just tried deactivating all non EE plugins and this has no effect. |
Hi Steve, It looks like something is stripping off the dynamic part of the URL that sets the event ID. Are there custom rewrite rules in the sites’s .htaccess file? Another possibility is the shortcodes and Event Espresso page settings are not matching up. Can you let me know what the shortcodes are on the following two pages: http://www.nasta40.com/event-registration and http://www.nasta40.com/affiliate and then can you check and let me know which page is set to be the main registration page in Event Espresso>General Settings>Page Settings? |

Hi, I’m not sure there is any custom rewrite rules in the .htaccess file (only what wordpress prompted me to put in) here are the contents of the file:
The hosting is being provided by my University and it is accessible at both guildweb.ex.ac.uk and nasta40.com could this be the cause? I also noticed that the license is for guildweb.ex.ac.uk although all users will be accessing the site from the nasta40.com address and this is where I have been testing from. Additionally here are the short codes used on the pages you mentioned: http://www.nasta40.com/event-registration – [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] Thanks |
Thanks for checking. Which of these two pages are set to be the main registration page in Event Espresso>General Settings>Page Settings? Event Registration -or- Affiliate |

Hi The main registration page is set as Event Registration as we plan to do a larger conference next year with more registration options. As a note, I have updated to the latest version of the plug-in. Steve |
Is this a multi-site installation where Event Espresso has been network activated? If so, can you try changing the permalink settings to the default setting to see if that makes a difference? |

Hi Josh, I’m not quite sure what your first comment meant, but having a bit of a deeper look into permalinks and how the website was setup and where the .htaccess file was located. Changing the Site URL option in wordpress to match the WordPress URL option seems to have fixed the issue and has allowed me to keep the post name permalink. As far as I can tell the issue is now resolved. Thank you very much for all your help. Steve |
