If a parent is registering their children (plural), and they put their kids’ names in as the attendees, the name of attendee #1 overwrites the name of the logged in user (the parent).

Is there any way around this?

I found this and it worked beautifully!

While the solution above works beautifully, there is nothing stopping someone from continuing the checkout without first selecting one of the for-free tickets in ADDITION TO the free parent ticket.

I suppose there’s some JavaScript that could help, but I’m not good like that. Anyone out there willing to help?

It depends on your set up as it will have to be tailored directly to your question ID’s, though the JavaScript should be fairly easy to do, most developers should be able to handle it.

Have you got a link to an example event?

I found a developer who used custom JavaScript and it’s working like a charm. Almost, she just has to tweak when the message comes up… seems it’s on the main events page just when clicking “more details” instead of just after the ticket selector and “register now”. I’m sure it’s easy enough for her to do. Closing this ticket.
