Using 3.1.25 after failed upgrade to 3.1.26 Have events established with several prices per event Now, no drop down is shown now when the registration page appears – just the standard questions and no price options which were established

Using [EXPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the registration page

I am concerned something got corrupted. Best way to fix?

Have you tried re-saving the events? Can you post a link to the site?

Seth, resaved and reentered to no avail.
http://testachi.com/registration-page/?regevent_action=register&event_id=2

Somehow it defaults to the first price only when you get the final confirmation BUT there is no way for the user to select what they want

Ultimate goal was for the user to select # of free tickets for child, teen, adult with a surcharge on each for charity events.

Have you made changes to your template files? This is working fine for me:

event prices

prices

Oh wait, can you try removing the # and replacing that with “Number”?

# in php is used for comments — it’s possible by using that character you are actually commenting out that line of code inadvertently.

Thanks Chris. No change – was hopeful there for a moment. Not sure if template files were changed. How do I restore the files to what they need to be to work?
1. Do I wipe everything out (deactivate and delete plugin) and stop all over?
2. Or replace certain files somehow?
Thanks

Hi Lawrence,

For testing, you could try renaming the templates directory to template-old. You may need to clear your cache for the changes to take affect. After renaming the directory and clearing your browser’s cache, check to see if the issue is resolved. This will help determine if there is a problem with templates.

Thank you. Do I do that from an FTP connection?
I do not want to make the situation worse than it is

Yes. You will do that through FTP.

You will find it in /wp-content/uploads/espresso
Change templates to something like templates-old.

Renamed the directory and the system would not work
Renamed back to the way it was and it was back the way it was

I must be missing something. What should I do after I rename the templates directory?

If they didn’t work after renaming /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, then it might be that /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates is missing. You could try installing a fresh copy of Event Espresso by manually uploading the plugin. You can download a fresh copy from your account page and deactivate then delete the current version, then upload the new version, and activate. Alternatively, check to see if the /templates directory is still in the /plugins/event-espresso/ location.

Josh, renaming the directory as directed prevented the system from working. FATAL
renaming it back restored the system. How can EE work without a templates directory?

I have a lot of detail configured in the site. Will I lose that if I install a NEW version and delete the old?

Hi. Our event pricing drop down is working ok. But how do I set the price which shows on the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] to be the Name 2 price and not the Name 8 price (one is the full price and one is the discount. I want the full price to show in the Events ‘summary’?)

That’s the problem. It shouldn’t. Unless for some reason, as Josh suggested, the /templates directory is missing from the plugin but you do have a /templates directory in /wp-content/uploads/espresso — in that case the one in the /uploads directory would override the missing directory in the plugin folder.

No this information is stored in the database, not in the files.

@barraladmin can you start a new thread for your issue? Yours is a different problem than what is being discussed in this thread.
