Event Payment Status not updating?

Hello,

Our organization is hosting a dinner event this month and this has been our first time receiving payments online (offering Paypal as only option). Paypal gateway worked flawlessly, but we’ve had one annoying issue with Event Espresso — the payment statuses are not updated for those who paid vs those who chose “pay now (Paypal)” but for whatever reason did not follow through.

The result is that I am having to manually go through each of the 80 people who selected to pay now and check against the Paypal payment history. I’m also having to manually send each person a payment not received reminder. Is there an error happening here that is preventing the payment status from updating once someone has paid thru Paypal? And also, is there an option to mass send an e-mail to those who have not paid?

Hello Paul,

Make sure the [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] shortcode is on the Transactions page.

The shortcode is indeed on the transactions page. Anything else that might be missing?

Also, is there currently a feature to send a mass payment reminder e-mail?

Paul,

Here are a few other things you can check
1. Make sure you have a standard or a business PayPal account, personal accounts will not work.
2. Turn on your IPN in the PayPal account settings.
3. Make sure your PayPal account is verified.
4. Make sure your Event Espresso pages are not protected or private.
5. Check the log file in wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs for errors
6. Install the simplified transactions page template.
