Event Pass with Sub-registration

To whom this concerns:

I’m working to create an event pass for a conference that takes place over several days and has multiple sessions per day that attendees can select to attend. I’ve tried to read and understand the documentation, but I’m having difficulties applying it to this specific use case.

For example, the event runs from Wednesday through Sunday, attendees can purchase a pass for one of those days, all of those days, or a combination of days in between. Within each day there are 20 sessions that attendees can select to take since they bought a pass that covers that day.

I’m trying to create it so an attendee can purchase a pass and then select the sessions to attend so we have a record of who is attending what session and the attendee can’t select a session on a day their pass does not cover.

If the documentation covers this and I overlooked it my sincerest apologies. If you can tell me where to look I’m happy to try again. If not, and someone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks…

Hi Nathan,

One way to do this is you install the Multi Event Registration add-on and you set up one event for each day, and then (optional) you set up one event that’s for access to all days.

Then, you set up custom questions to capture the session choices. These may work the best as checkbox question, so the registration can check the boxes next to the sessions that they want to attend. Then you assign each question to their own Question Group. Then, and this is important, you assign the Question group to their own event. Then you’ll also assign *all* of the question groups to the event that gives access to all days.

Josh,

Thank you for the help. In the way you describe, would this still generate a total per event? For example if someone purchased an event pass for one of the days and selected the sessions they wanted would this add a value of 1 to those sessions total registrants so when looking at it from the admin panel you had a total value per session?

Thanks again for the help.
Nate

In order to get a total value per session in the admin, those sessions would be set up as tickets for specific date times. So the way you can set those up would be make the event pass for that one day a required ticket, then each of the sessions are a ticket that are assigned to a specific date time.
