Event Page / Site now Extremely Slow to Load

Read the other topics but they don’t seem to address directly.

My event page (http://www.usdsf.org/event-registration/?ee=1) takes 1-3 minutes to load… clearly way too long. I’ve tried deactivating every plugin on my site, and it’s still an issue… Beginning to think our nonprofit’s set up is not able to handle EE…. request assistance.

Hi there,

I checked your website and the background image that’s set up there is ~ 1.3 Megabytes in size. That’s really big and will slow the site down because the server will try to serve the background image on every request. This will affect the events page and every other page on the site too.

You’ll find that the site will load up much more quickly if you remove its background image and replace it with something under 100 Kilobytes.
