Hi, I have an ongoing event that has been on our system since July. Suddenly its not working. You click on the event, fill in the questions and click Submit, and you get to the next screen OK. But when you click on Confirm Registration all the fields turn blank and it doesn’t go any further. Additionally, when you look at the attendees, the registration is getting into the system but with missing fields exactly as described in a previous issue we had (https://eventespresso.com/topic/nameemail-not-appearring-in-registration-for-one-event-only/). The event is what we are using to sell memberships and are having a big push for a members only event this coming Tuesday. So this is disastrous for us. Finally, I signed up for VIP membership because this is such an urgent issue. But I don’t see how you guys can tell. I’ll guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Thanks Morag Reid Note: I am probably going to switch over to a PayPal button so we can still accept memberships but here is the link to the event. http://wholisticwomanretreats.com/event-registration/?ee=5 Also, have to say this is the 3rd event we have sold through EE and every time we have had a serious issue. Truly disappointing. |
Hi there, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with this. If you look at the above linked page: There are two error messages on the page. These messages indicates that there are older versions of Event Espresso’s templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. These are overriding the new version’s templates. The quickest way to resolve this is by going to the Event Espresso>Templates settings screen, and clicking the button that renames the directory that contains the older templates. |

OK, now its working, but that has overwritten all my beautifully crafted CSS. I thought that I could prevent that from being overwritten by having the template files in a different directory? Do I now have to re-do all the CSS? |

Hi, What has happened is that the old template files, the ones you have modified, have had their folder renamed. So they are still there on the server but the plugin cannot access them any more. In order to bring back your changes you will need to compare the old files to the new template files and modify the new templates with the changes so that it works in line with the update. A tool such as DiffMerge can assist greatly with this. We are acutely aware that this is a pain to do, and as such we do try our best to reduce the number of changes to the templates when an update is released but these changes do occur. We are brainstorming ideas on the best way to change the templating format in future releases to reduce/remove the necessity of moving modifications over. |
