So here is the scenario…after reading it can you help me figure out how to accomplish this.
So we use Event Espresso (EE3) to book races (5K, 10K, Marathon, etc). We want to create a login for the event manager so that he can login and see registrations and information for his event…but his event only. So we might have 10 events listed, but they are 10 different managers. How can we do this?

Hi Greg.
Well we have two addons for EE3 that can help: Roles and Permissions Basic (RPBasic) & Roles and Permissions Pro (RPPro).
RPBasic allows the creation of an Event Admin only, so won’t be suitable for your needs as I assume you don’t want to give these event managers site admin access.
RPPro requires basic to be installed to work, but also allows the creation of 2 different roles: Event Manager and Regional Manager.
The Event Manager role would be ideal for you – they are limited to EE only and can have different areas of EE made available to them. They can also only access events they have created. Unfortunately, they need to create the events, they cannot be assigned retroactively.
You could log in as them (User Switching plugin is very useful here) and create the events for them, or allow them to create the events.
The Regional Manger role allows events to be assigned to them based on venue. How it works is a venue is created and assigned a locale (e.g. UK, France or even 5K, 10K – the locale doesn’t need to be geographically based). The venue is then assigned to the appropriate event/s and the Regional Manager is assigned the locale.
So if a Regional Manager is assigned the locale of UK, then any event that has a venue also assigned the locale UK will be available to the Regional Manager.
